Trade Schools and Community Colleges
Last week, President Obama announced new funding and investment for Community Colleges. We are preparing an Insight post based on that — stay tuned later this week.
There is also a good article today in USA Today relating to trade schools which are experiencing a boom. http://bit.ly/16bMdy. But – the observation is that the age of students has increased substantially compared to previous years. People are going back to school for re-training.
This is not a big surprise of course as we approach 10% unemployment. The surprising thing we find is how many educational providers – systems, testing, instructional materials and the like — do not consider this area when looking at portions of the education market that offer growth opportunity.
